Palace manager Ian Holloway has brought in no less than 12 players this window in an attempt to get his side into a position where they can avoid relegation in their first premier league season since 2004/05. Palace have a reputation as a real yoyo team who have spent just the single year in England’s top league on each of their other 4 attempts in the premier league era, this time they will be looking to cement a place amongst the country’s elite. Holloway has moved to litter his squad with proven premier league talent, with the likes of Mariappa, Bannan, Kebe, Grandin and Phillips all having previously appeared in the premier league. Palace have strengthened quite significantly, without splashing the cash in any significant way, however, the calibre of their signings is questionable and whether or not it will be enough to keep them in the top tier, only time will tell.

Grade: C+

Holloway has managed to secure some proven premier league talent, however his squad lacks that wow factor, and they could really struggle to stay up this season.
